An increase in salaries and pensions was expected before the early parliamentary elections on September 1. However, this prediction did not come true. According to some economists, after the elections to the Milli Majlis, a decision can be made regarding the increase of allowances. According to other possibilities, a similar step will be taken at the beginning of next year.
But I wonder if the increase in salaries and pensions seems realistic?
Publika.az It is reported that lawyer and economist-expert Ekrem Hasanov, who spoke to Yenisabah.az on the subject, said that an increase in salaries and pensions is expected at the beginning of next year:
“When we say salary and pension increase, of course we are talking about those who receive benefits from the state budget. Of course, the salaries of those working in government jobs are also expected to be increased. It is possible that this will happen next year. Because the price increase continues in various fields in an intensive form. On the other hand, raising the minimum wage is also discussed. Let’s take into account that we are violating the international conventions of which we are partners regarding the minimum wage.
The expert pointed out that the minimum wage will also be increased:
“There is a European Charter on this matter, and it states that the minimum wage should be at least 60 percent of the average minimum wage for the country. Our average salary has already exceeded 1000 manats. That is, the minimum wage should be increased to 600 manats somewhere. In other words, the intended 500 manat is too little. But in any case, it will not be more than 500 manats. It is wrong to link it to the election. However, the prices will rise in parallel with the salary and pension increase.
