Saeed Al-Muftahi returns through the Walili Festival

After undergoing a successful surgery in the capital of lights, Paris, France, Sheikh Said Al-Muftahi, the ambassador of Malhoun abroad, returns to us through the 23rd edition of the Volubilis International Festival of Traditional World Music, which is organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Culture Sector in cooperation with the Meknes Prefecture.

A sophisticated artistic concert that is eagerly awaited by those who are passionate about and interested in our heritage will be hosted by the Mohammed Al-Manouni Cultural Complex Hall in the city of Meknes, on Friday, September 13, 2024. This concert is part of the celebration of the Ministry of Culture’s classification of Al-Malhun as a human heritage.

The Volubilis International Festival of Traditional World Music is under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI, and its session this year extends from September 12 to 15, 2024.

The artworks of this session will be presented through the platform of the archaeological site of Volubilis, the platform of the (Administrative Square – Meknes), the platform of the (Hedim Square – Meknes), and the hall of the cultural complex of Mohamed El Menouni; with the participation of a group of artists, including the artist Hamid El Kasri, Said Maskir, Daoudia, Badr Ouabi, Abdel Aziz Stati, Farid Ghanem, Mohamed Adly, the Ashkain group, Marwan Hajji, and a group from Senegal: Groupe les Koora-foola de Sédhiou/Sénégal, and the Al-Multaqa Vision group from Spain, in addition to other artists. This artistic event will also honor, during the opening ceremony, a group of artists who left their mark on the artistic scene: Hadda Ouaki, Mohamed El Wali, Bouchaib Ben Aguida, and Mohamed Brioul.

It is noteworthy that the Volubilis International Festival of Traditional World Music seeks to build bridges between Morocco’s present and past, create economic dynamism, and integrate archaeological spaces into the region’s cultural and tourism development agenda. The festival also contributes to creating an aesthetic space and conveying a sublime human message that seeks to elevate tastes and express a Morocco open to all cultures.
