Saddened by the scene of Vietnamese workers “sleeping around” on cardboard in Japan

Because of family circumstances, Cam Ly had to go abroad to work to earn money to support her parents. On the day she left for the airport, the whole family cried as they sent her off to find a way to change her future.

On May 24, a clip appeared on social networks recording the scene of a group of Vietnamese workers “sleeping around” at a construction site in Japan, making the online community sad.

The owner of the clip, Mr. Minh (from Tien Hai, Thai Binh), said that the above clip was filmed when he and his colleagues were on their lunch break.

“Working outdoors, we are free to choose… a place to sleep, sometimes in a car or simply a piece of cardboard or a tree stump. At first it was really hard, but gradually we got used to it,” Minh said.

Coming to Japan to work for more than a year, Mr. Minh confided that he sometimes had to suppress his homesickness to concentrate on working and making money.

He and his colleagues came to Japan as labor exporters. Currently, the whole group is working as solar panel installers at a construction site in Kyoto (Japan). Every month, his income ranges from 15 to 16 Man (equivalent to 24.3-25.9 million VND).

Every day, he has to work 7-9 hours, depending on the workload. Many times, the whole team had to buckle down and work on rainy, windy, and snowy days. That made Mr. Minh feel even more appreciative and happy when receiving the money he made himself.

The clip posted on social networks has attracted hundreds of thousands of interactions. Many people expressed their sympathy for the hardship and determination of Vietnamese workers abroad.

“I’m also a Vietnamese worker in Japan, so I understand this hardship very well. Sometimes when work is busy, I don’t have time to take a lunch break, so I just quickly lie down on the ground to take a nap. Even though it’s hard, it’s a change. The salary is very worthy,” XT account commented.

“Even though we know money is important, health is even more important. The price of making a lot of money is very expensive, so workers must know their strength,” the GH account wrote.
