SADC: Senior officials identify projects for funding

News from Angola – The Standing Committee of Senior Officials of SADC, identified and analyzed on Wednesday, the projects that should be financed as priorities of the regional organization in the 2023 – 2024 financial year.

At the meeting, the SADC Summit spokesperson, Jorge Cardoso, said there was 129 million dollars for this economic and financial year.

Jorge Cardos, highlighted that resources from member states are in the order of 82 million dollars, equivalent to 67% of the budget.

At the Summit on the 17th, according to the official, SADC’s international partners will contribute the remaining 33%.

In Angola, the Summit takes place under the motto: “Human and financial capital: The main factors for sustainable industrialization in the SADC region”, for the Republic of Angola does not derive from mere chance, but rather from the main challenges and opportunities that the country intends to achieve , through the presidency’s strategy and action plan already approved, and clearly indicates what is expected of citizens, families and institutions.

Angola initially assumed the Rotating Presidency of SADC in 2002 and in 2011, it is a founding member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and shares together with other States a series of common objectives and strategies, but not only, aiming to improve of the living conditions of the populations of all member states.

SADC includes Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
