Russian intelligence chief scolded Macron – 2024-03-06 17:12:31

Ukraine Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign spy chief has rebuked French President Emmanuel Macron for making dangerous comments about Macron said he would send European troops to Ukraine to fight Russian forces. Sergei Naryshkin, the head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), is concerned about this. In an interview on state television on Tuesday (March 5), he slammed the comments as extremely dangerous and irresponsible. British news agency Reuters reported this news.

Macron said last month that while there is no consensus on sending European troops to fight in Ukraine, it should not be completely ruled out. But other European members of the alliance, including the United States, said they had no such plans.

The Ukraine-Russia war has become known as the deepest crisis in Russia’s relations with the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. President Vladimir Putin has warned that sending troops to the Ukraine conflict would be seen as provocation of nuclear war.

Asked about Macron’s comments during an interview on state television on Tuesday, Sergei Naryshkin said they were deeply irresponsible.

At the time, he said, ‘This shows the high level of political irresponsibility of the European leaders, especially the French President. This statement is very dangerous. Their comments do not carry any weight at all.’

Russia and the United States have the largest nuclear arsenals in the world. President Joe Biden has warned that conflict between Russia and NATO could lead to World War III.
