Russia warns citizens in border region not to use dating apps

Russia has warned its citizens living in its border region not to use dating apps to avoid having their sensitive information stolen.

The Russian Interior Ministry has advised residents of the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions not to use unreliable webcams and dating apps.

According to Interfax, it was also emphasized that links coming from chat groups should be approached with caution, so that the aim would be to “prevent enemies from gathering intelligence.”

It was also emphasized that military and police personnel living in these regions should not use online dating services or watch videos from sensitive locations.

Warnings were made that Ukrainian forces could see everywhere by seizing unprotected CCTV cameras, and security forces were asked not to use their locations on social media.

An article by Olga Fyodorova in the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper also warned that Ukrainian forces could collect intelligence by hacking cameras in Russia.

That’s why it was stated that surveillance tools and dating apps should not be used to avoid creating security vulnerabilities.

Ukraine has been trying to force Russia to keep out of its territory and negotiate a ceasefire with a military operation in the Kursk region since August 7.

On the one hand, residents of the Kursk region of Russia are being evacuated.
