More trouble for anti-Putin politicians in Russia. Sergei Udaltsov, leader of the left-wing party ‘Left Front’ was arrested and a criminal case was opened against him for “justification of terrorism”. Udaltsov’s apartment was searched, his lawyer Violetta Volkova explained: «Electronic media were seized. A criminal case was initiated against him under Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (justification of terrorism). He was taken to the Investigative Committee for questioning.” Udaltsov could face up to 7 years in prison if convicted of justifying terrorism.

It is not the first time that the man, a 46-year-old politician, has had problems with the law in Russia. In 2012, the ‘Moscow Times’ recalls, Udaltsov participated in anti-Kremlin demonstrations on the eve of the inauguration of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. In 2014, the Moscow City Court found Udaltsov guilty of organizing mass riots, and he was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison. In August 2017, Udaltsov, who had pleaded not guilty, was released. And now here is more trouble for those who dare to oppose the ‘Tsar’.
