Russia successfully developed the Rat anti-UAV system

Rat is a specialized multi-purpose anti-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) mobile system that can operate in all combat conditions, even when moving on rough terrain.

This system was developed by the Ruselectronics company, part of Russia’s Rostec Group, and is designed to protect important targets, both fixed and mobile, against unauthorized intrusion by UAVs.

Rat is built on the basis of a special armored vehicle, bulletproof, fully equipped with UAV reconnaissance and suppression equipment, including a radar station, an automatic identification and neutralization system. telecommunications channels, 1 electronic warfare system, 1 optical-electronic system and 1 high-power directional laser system.

All these devices are powered with artificial intelligence (AI) technology that collects, processes and displays information. Data from reconnaissance and detection vehicles is sent to the central control panel, the system processes target parameters and provides the operating crew with a number of options for performing further actions.

According to the manufacturer, the Rat complex can detect UAVs at a distance of up to 4km, suppress UAV targets within a radius of about 1.5km by blocking the UAV’s satellite positioning and communication channels or destroying them. Destroy them using directed laser radiation or 30mm automatic cannon.
