Russia will not leave behind the planned decision in the European Union to give the frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, stated this in an interview with the “Argumenti in Fact” periodical.
“I think the Europeans understand that we will contest this decision. It is possible that it will not be a matter of a year, but of decades, but we will not leave it like that,” said Peskov.
At the same time, according to the Kremlin spokesman, the Europeans will destroy their investment attractiveness, the foundations of commercial law, because “private property or the state’s right to its possessions is sacred, it cannot be touched.”
“And here, if they violate it once, they will immediately receive a backlash from investors, they will damage their reputation, which they have earned for decades. Simply put, they will cut the branch they are sitting on,” said the press secretary of the Russian president.
According to Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Western countries have frozen Russian reserves of 300 billion dollars.
