Developed by the Burevestnik Central Research Institute, the 2S43 Malva uses the 152mm 2A64 bullet, with the mission of destroying a variety of targets – from enemy infantry personnel and equipment on the front lines to tactical nuclear weapons. in the rear, at a distance of up to 24km. Using BAZ-6010-027 chassis with 8×8 tire configuration, 470 horsepower diesel engine system, allowing to move at a speed of 80km/h. The system has a range of 1,000km on flat roads with just one fuel tank and can be transported by Il-76 transport aircraft. Most likely in the future, the 2S43 Malva is a replacement for the 2A65 Msta-B and 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled guns as well as other towed guns currently in service with the Russian army.
