The World Anti-Doping Agency banned Russia’s national teams from participating in any global sporting event on Monday (9).
This suspension, announced by the same agency, and linked by the world press, will be valid for the next four years starting next year.
Therefore, Russian athletes are not expected to participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games, next year, nor the biggest football competition in the world, the World Cup, which will be held in 2022 in Qatar.
In 2016, a doping scandal restricted the participation of Russian athletes in competitions such as the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and the IAAF World Athletics Championships.
This is without a doubt one of the biggest doping scandals of this century and involves a large number of athletes from the same country.
