Rows of new lieutenant generals in 2024 after transfer of TNI commander

JAKARTA – A number of high-ranking officers (Pati) of the Indonesian Army (AD) will officially hold the rank of Lieutenant General (Letjen) in 2024. This follows the steps of the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto which issued policies on transfers, rotations and promotions in the ranks of the TNI.

Throughout 2024, TNI General Agus Subiyanto is recorded as having transferred his ranks several times. This policy is an effort to answer increasingly complex future challenges.

The rank of Lieutenant General is a rank for high-ranking three-star officers. The rank of Lieutenant General is only used by high-ranking Indonesian Army officers. In the TNI structure, there are several strategic positions occupied by Pati Bintang Tiga.

The following is a list of TNI Lieutenant Generals in 2024:

1. TNI Lieutenant General Rudianto

Lt. Gen. TNI Rudianto currently serves as Commander General (Danjen) of the TNI Academy. He has held this position since March 22 2024.

Pati TNI, born in Kudus, Central Java, March 7 1967, is full of experience. The 1989 Military Academy (Akmil) trainee from the Kopassus branch has undergone various assignments, both in military units and in organizations outside the TNI.

Before serving as Danjen TNI Academy, Rudianto held strategic positions including Head of TNI Bais, Inspector General, Pangdam IV Diponegoro. He has also been deployed in a number of military operations, including the Seroja Operation in East Timor, now called Timor Leste.

2. TNI Lieutenant General Yudi Abrimantyo

TNI Lieutenant General Yudi Abrimantyo is included in the ranks of high-ranking officers (Pati) of the TNI AD. Currently, he serves as Head of the TNI’s Strategic Intelligence Agency (Kabais). He has held this important position since March 22 2024.

A 1989 Military Academy graduate from the Kopassus Infantry branch, he once served as Principal Chief A-5 of the TNI Directorate General of Defense, Bandep Ur Sosbud Deputy for Development of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense, then Ses of the Directorate General of Strahan, Ministry of Defense. Apart from that, Kabainstrahan Kemhan before finally becoming Head of Bais TNI until now.

3. Lieutenant General TNI Tandyo Budi Revita

Lieutenant General TNI Tandyo Budi Revita currently serves as Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Wakasad). He has held this strategic position since February 21, 2024. He replaces Lt. Gen. TNI Arif Rahman, who will enter full service (retirement).

Lieutenant General Tando Budi is a 1991 Military Academy (Akmil) graduate from the Kostrad Infantry branch. This TNI general, born in Surakarta, Central Java, February 1969, has had a brilliant career. He has held a number of strategic positions in the TNI.

Among others, Danrindam IX/Udayana in 2015, Danrem 142/Taroada Tarogau. The owner of the Raider Qualification Brevet has also served as Dirrah Komhan, Directorate General of Strahan, Ministry of Defense in 2019-2021, Kabadiklat Kemhan in 2021-2023, Pangdam IV/Diponegoro for the period 2023-2024, and currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff.
