On February 15, information from the People’s Committee of Dien Lu commune, Ba Thuoc district (Thanh Hoa) said that a drowning incident had just occurred in the commune, causing the death of a couple.
Initial information, around 1pm on February 14 (the 5th day of Tet), Mr. NVC and his wife (born 1987; residing in Ninh Khang commune, Vinh Loc district, Thanh Hoa) went to a relative’s house in Song Ma village (Dien Lu commune, Thanh Hoa). Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa) to celebrate Tet.
After that, Mr. NVC’s family and 8 acquaintances went to Ma River – the lake bed of Ba Thuoc 2 hydropower plant to play and take photos.
While rowing, the boat suddenly capsized, causing all 8 people to fall into the river. 4 people then swam to shore, 2 children were rescued. However, Mr. NVC and his wife, TTKN (born 1989), went missing.
That same afternoon, the authorities recovered the bodies of Mr. NVC and his wife, Ms. TTKN, and handed them over to the family to handle the funeral.
It is known that Mr. NV C and his wife live in the South. When returning home to celebrate Tet, they went to visit their aunt’s house in Dien Lu commune (Ba Thuoc district) when the above incident happened.
