National champion Roeselare, once again dominant in the competition, lived up to its role as favorite. Only in the second set was Menen the equal of Roeselare, after an exciting ending it went to the troops of Frank Depestele. Roeselare responded with two easy set wins.

With 16 cup trophies, Roeselare is the only record holder. It has won the trophy seven times in the past eight editions. Maaseik has been on the honors list 14 times.

Last year the West Flemish clubs also played the cup final. Roeselare then won with 3-0. Menen was in the final battle for the third time. In 2007 they suffered a 3-0 defeat against Maaseik.

The women’s cup final is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Then Asterix Avo Beveren will face Charleroi.
