A landslide occurred on the Ltsen-Tatev highway, as a result of which the road was closed on one side. This message is from the April 30 newsletter. It will not attract the attention of almost anyone, because the news feeds have objectively absorbed the information from Tavushsh, around Tavush, around Armenia. In practice, however, the information about the Tatev-Ltsen road is not directly, but significantly related to all these topics, it is deeply related. We are talking about the only road connecting the northern and central parts of Armenia to the south, Syunik.
After the famous events around the Goris-Kapan road, the Tatev-Ltsen road has essentially become the only road to Syunik. However, in fact, this is not the only road to Syunik, but the only road of interstate significance that ensures the connection with Iran and, if we go further, with India or the Persian Gulf. In other words, we are talking about the only road of strategic importance in Armenia, which has been under construction for more than three years, but today it is not in such a condition that allows us to consider that we are dealing with a fully and completely working interstate road that provides stable and unhindered connection with the strategic region of Armenia, as well as with other regions of strategic significance.
And this is an indicator, an indicator of conversations about Armenian statehood. An indicator that the state does not become a state or is perceived as a state through lectures, but through other actions, including those of strategic significance. In fact, more than three years is not enough to make the highway of strategic significance, arterial significance fully operational and to provide preventive fortification construction in risky sections. If the state is not able to fully solve this vital problem for more than three years, then no lecture, no propaganda, no strategic rhetoric can have any result or even more effective usefulness and significance.
