Robert Fico was taken to his apartment in Bratislava – it is located in the Sokolská Residence apartment block under Slavíni.e. in a new building in Okánikova street in the wider center of Bratislava.
He bought the apartment from a member of the Direction
Fico has been living there since January 2020, apartment with a large terrace on the top floor he first rented it there from Smér-SD MP Dušan Muňek, but eventually bought it back after the successful elections when he became prime minister. The building is now guarded by the Office for the Protection of Constitutional Officials, the police patrolled in front of the house on Friday as well.
The prime minister who was shot was from Banská Bystrica, where he was hospitalized in the Roosevelt Hospital, transported by helicopter to Bratislava MR Štefánik airport on Thursday evening – to home care. “The Prime Minister is currently in home nursing care,” the Banská Bystrica hospital confirmed.
Gut shot five times
Fico’s small intestine was shot in five places after the assassination. “I was on the spot, I talked to the doctors and it was the millimeters that decided whether something fundamental would be breached and it would be fatal. It hit the small intestine in such a way that it was shot through five timesbut the doctors performed miracles,” Erik Kaliňák, nephew of Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kaliňák and head of Fico’s advisers, told Postoj.sk.
The prime minister, who was shot with a legally held weapon by senior citizen and writer Juraj C. during a government meeting in Handlová, is now awaiting a time-consuming rehabilitation.
“I would therefore like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank him himself, because he was a disciplined patient, our team of excellent medical professionals for an excellent job, all the armed forces for their professional approach and all the people for the strong positive energy they sent to us,” said hospital director Mriam Lapuníková after Fico’s release.
Further examination at the Hospital of St. Michael?
According to Čas.sk, the question is whether Fico did not undergo another examination in the Slovak capital on Friday in view of the traffic in front of his apartment and the departure of the car that brought Fico to the apartment complex. According to Diary N, he moves himself, with the help of French sticks.
Next care should now be provided by the Bratislava Hospital of St. Michaelreports Čas.sk, according to which an entire wing of this medical facility was cleared because of Fico.
