A terrible road accident has occurred in an area inhabited by agricultural farms in central California, USA. Eight people, including a driver, died in the accident on Friday (February 23). United States-based news agency AP reported the news.
According to the police, the workers of a local farm were traveling in a van. At such a time a pickup from the opposite direction actually collided with them head on.
Explaining the accident, California Highway Patrol Officer Javier Ruvalcaba said the collision caused the pickup van to overturn and land on the side of the road in an almond field. The van was twisted in the accident.
He also said that a farm laborer in the back of the van luckily survived. He was admitted to a local hospital with injuries. Hope he gets well soon.
Noting that the occupants of the van were not wearing seat belts, the police officer said that only two of the occupants of the van were wearing seat belts. If they had all been wearing seatbelts, this might not have happened.
Meanwhile, an eyewitness to the incident told the police that the black pickup was moving randomly on the road before the accident. The witness suspected that the driver of the pickup might have taken drugs.
