National road number 4 was once again the scene of tragedy. One man was killed and three others were seriously injured in a car accident that occurred on Friday June 7 on national road number 4, in the urban commune and district of Ankazobe. That day, around 6:30 p.m., a Mercedes 4×4 pick-up carrying four people overturned, with all four wheels in the air, after missing a turn between Firarazana and Andranofeno (PK 126).
For the moment, the exact circumstances of the tragedy have not yet been determined. Arriving late on the scene, the gendarmes noted that the injured, including the driver, had already been transported to Ankazobe hospital by passers-by. They just had to see the facts.
In any case, the heavy damage caused by the impact allowed them to raise the theory of excessive speed and recklessness on the part of the driver. The latter was driving at high speed without taking into account the presence of the bend. The investigation revealed that the victim, aged 20, was a resident of Mahitsy. After the medical examiner’s report, his remains were placed in the morgue of Ankazobe hospital while awaiting the arrival of his family. The investigation into this matter is underway with the Ankazobe gendarmerie brigade.
Truck
The day before yesterday, another accident also occurred on the RN4, still in Firarazana. A truck carrying rice overturned, all four wheels in the air. According to the testimony of local residents, the behemoth left the road after wobbling while approaching a bend. Fortunately, this accident caused no casualties.
