Mariano Serna Muñoz, president of the National Chamber of Commerce (Canaco) in Torreón, considered that currently we have a global economy and the increase in some prices as a consequence of the war cannot be ruled out, such as an increase in fuel prices. .

He mentioned that in this part of the world ships also cross and maritime freight becomes more expensive due to insecurity, which directly impacts the cost of merchandise that comes from the East and Europe to Mexico.

“Yes, it is something that worries us, we are on the lookout and monitoring how the conflict is developing, hopefully it does not escalate and is resolved as quickly as possible,” he expressed.

For his part, Alejandro Gutiérrez Gutiérrez, president of the National Chamber of the Processing Industry (Canacintra) in Torreón, pointed out that Israel is fundamental in terms of sending inputs from the agricultural sector to Mexico, which could also have a derived impact. of the war conflict faced in said region.

“If the issue progresses, it may be that yes, at this moment we have not seen any impact yet,” he said.

He highlighted the use of inputs for irrigation and fertilizers, aspects where Israel is very strong, but reiterated that the consequences of this situation have not yet been seen, so if there were an escalation in terms of the war, the lack of supply of other supplies would be evident. issues in the countries involved.
