Rise of the low-carb diet and the gluten-free diet

This type of diet, low in carbohydrates, favoring proteins and lipids, has become increasingly popular in recent years.

To combat overweight or obesity in particular, diets and sport are among the main solutions proposed by nutrition professionals, with, in recent years, increased visibility in Madagascar for low-carbohydrate diets, minimizing sugar in favor of proteins and fat.

A low-carb diet is completely healthy as long as it includes a variety of nutritious, whole, unprocessed foods, several scientific studies support. It must be recognized that the scientific literature on this type of diet includes sometimes contradictory conclusions.

Currently suggested, praised, but also studied on almost all media platforms, a diet low in carbohydrates, and with an increase in the consumption of fat and proteins, is becoming more and more attractive. Also included is gluten-free eating.

According to nutrition experts, eating low-carb diets can be good for the heart because they can increase good cholesterol levels and lower blood pressure and triglyceride levels. Furthermore, studies show that some people lose weight by eating such a diet, just as it is possible to lose weight by adopting a low-fat diet. However, results vary from person to person. In addition to the fight against overweight and obesity, improving general health is the main objective sought by people who adopt this type of diet in the long term. However, a low-carb diet does not mean zero carbs. According to nutrition professionals, low-carb diets should contain vegetables, some fruits, especially berries and strawberries, and more meats and fats.

Certain other studies indicate, however, that such a diet is not without danger, in particular regarding cardiovascular diseases and cancers. Thesis refuted by scientists studying the ketogenic diet, saying precisely the opposite. To the extent that scientific studies on both assertions are increasing, the debate is clearly far from over.
