Rich People Use Subsidized Fuel, Minister Bahlil: What Does the World Say, Boss?

JAKARTA – Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia prohibiting middle-class people from using subsidized fuel oil (BBM). This is in line with the government’s plan to subsidized fuel can be more targeted.

“If the rightful recipient subsidy “That’s the community, I’m sorry, the lower middle class. If we are rich, we still receive subsidized fuel, what will the world say, boss?,” he said in a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (27/8/2024).

Therefore, Minister Bahlil ensured that in the future luxury vehicle owners will no longer be able to enjoy subsidized fuel. One of them is by issuing the ESDM Ministerial Regulation in the near future.

In the regulation, it will be revealed who is entitled to use the Special Assignment Fuel (JBKP) Pertalite and Certain Subsidized Fuel (JBT) Solar. Bahlil also ensured that the implementation of this regulation is planned to be enforced starting October 1, 2024.

“That’s the plan (October 1). Because once the regulation is out, the regulation is out, there is time for socialization. Well, this socialization is what I’m discussing now,” he explained.

“So luxury cars should no longer use subsidized goods,” concluded Bahlil.
