Ricardo Anaya, Alito Moreno and all the politicians who will reach the Senate in the next Legislature

An official majority made up of Morena, PVEM and PT is expected to arrive at the Congress of the Union, followed by the opposition PRI, PAN, Movimiento Ciudadano and the defunct PRD.

For now and with the official integration remaining to be defined, these are some of the characters who are projected to reach the Senate, both from the official side and from the opposition.

Among them are Ricardo Anaya, former presidential candidate involved in the Odebrecht case; the former governor of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat; the former candidate for governor of Guerrero, Félix Salgado Macedonio and the national leaders of the PRI and the PAN, ‘Alito’ Moreno and Marko Cortés.

Morena

• Adam Augustus Former Secretary of the Interior, former presidential candidate and former governor of Tabasco, during his term in the entity he was accused of appointing people close to the CJNG.

• Marcelo Ebrard- Former head of Government of Mexico City and former Secretary of Foreign Affairs fought the results of the internal process by which Claudia Sheinbaum was chosen as a presidential candidate.

• Gerardo Fernández Noroña- former deputy and former presidential candidate. He was a constant critic of healthy distance measures and the use of face masks during the covid-19 pandemic. He has been questioned for lack of “austerity” due to his constant travel and ownership of a truck worth more than a million pesos.

• Citlalli Hernández- general secretary of the Morena party.

• Alejandro Esquer- private secretary of President López Obrador. He was caught on video in 2017 making “ant” deposits to avoid reporting 1.4 million pesos to the Treasury; The money was intended for the victims of the earthquake that year but ended up in the hands of Morena politicians.

• Martha Lucía Micher- legislator close to Marcelo Ebrard, she has a degree in Pedagogy and has a postgraduate degree in Education for Peace and Human Rights; She has been a feminist activist since the 90s.

• Javier Corral- Former PAN governor of Chihuahua, after internal conflicts in the PAN, he joined Claudia Sheinbaum’s team. Until 2022, the State Attorney General’s Office had 11 complaints against him that ranged from treason to the Homeland to torture.

PAN

• Marko Cortés- national leader of the PAN responsible for breaking the alliance with the PRI and the PRD in Coahuila by revealing a political agreement agreed between the leadership of the parties for the distribution of positions.

• Ricardo Anaya- The former presidential candidate managed to get the Electoral Court to confirm his candidacy for the Senate despite the fact that Morena argued that he is “a fugitive from justice.” He has been accused of receiving bribes from Emilio Lozoya for the approval of the Energy Reform.

• Lilly Téllez She reached the Senate for Morena, but then became critical of the policies and initiatives of President López Obrador. During the pandemic she questioned the vaccination campaigns against covid-19.

AT

• Alejandro Moreno- leader of the PRI responsible for one of the bloodletting of militants and the latest biggest defeats that the party has suffered, has been investigated for alleged embezzlement of 4 thousand million pesos while being governor of Campeche. In addition, national media have documented that he owns homes worth millions of pesos, when his income was lower while he was in office.

• Carolina Viggiano- former first lady of Coahuila and former candidate for governor of Hidalgo, was accused of having more than a dozen properties in Hidalgo.

• Pablo Angulo- President of the Surveillance Commission of the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF) was accused of the alleged theft and dissemination of confidential information.

• Manlio Fabio Beltrones- The former PRI governor of Sonora has been accused of links to drug trafficking, one of which was in 1997 when The New York Times accused him of protecting Amado Carrillo Fuentes “The Lord of the Skies”, leader of the Juárez Cartel.

Furthermore, the Spanish newspaper El País has indicated that he and his daughter Sylvana Beltrones are being investigated by the justice system in Andorra for alleged money laundering.

Citizen movement

• Clemente Castañeda- He has been a local and federal deputy and coordinator of the MC bench, in addition to coordinating Enrique Alfaro’s campaign for governor of Jalisco.

• Alejandra Barrales- Former leader of the PRD, from the union level at Aeroméxico he faced complaints of fraud and irregularities. When she aspired to be the head of Government of Mexico City she was accused of corruption and acquiring luxury properties.

• Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas- The former mayor of Monterrey was accused during his mayoral campaign of being a partner in an office that invoiced 7.5 million pesos to the PRI governors accused of corruption Roberto Borge, Roberto Sandoval, Rodrigo Medina and Javier Duarte.

• Dante Delgado- He graduated from Law from the Universidad Veracruzana and has been a senator, deputy, federal, governor of Veracruz, deputy director of Fisheries, ambassador of Mexico in Italy, Albania and Malta; in addition to being an agrarian attorney.

He was imprisoned in 1996 and currently close to him have been implicated in the Segalmex corruption case.
