While returning from visiting relatives by motorbike, father and his 6-year-old child were suddenly swept away by floodwaters and died.
On the morning of June 10, information from the leader of the People’s Committee of Hoang Su Phi district, Ha Giang province, said that in the area, there had just been an incident where a father and son were swept away by floodwaters and died.
Before that, at dawn on the same day, at the overflow bridge area of Tan Thuong village, Nam Ty commune, Hoang Su Phi district, Mr. LCH (born 1997, residing in Nam Ty commune) and his child LHT (6 years old, were riding a motorbike). Crossing the stream, he was suddenly swept away by floodwaters. At about 8 o’clock the same day, the bodies of Mr. H. and his child were found by local authorities.
After the incident, local leaders were present to visit and encourage the victim’s family. It is known that Mr. H. and his father had an accident while on their way home from visiting relatives.
In Ha Giang City, heavy rain caused a house to be deeply flooded. The authorities arrived promptly to rescue 4 people trapped inside and get out safely.
According to initial statistics, heavy rain in Ha Giang province caused 3 deaths, many houses in Hoang Su Phi, Xin Man, and Vi Xuyen districts were eroded and damaged; Many crops, livestock and poultry were damaged; Some communes and wards of Ha Giang city are locally flooded.
