Representatives of the Istiqlal Party demand the removal of “anarchists” from membership in the Executive Committee

The electronic newspaper Hespress learned from informed sources that the meeting between representatives of the Independent Team for Unity and Equality and the Secretary-General, Nizar Baraka, witnessed the raising of a group of issues and demands that are expected to push in the direction of tightening, and preventing any name proven to be involved in the events witnessed by the last conference from reaching the Executive Committee. Being negotiated.

The newspaper’s sources confirmed that the parliamentary representatives, elected in the twelve regions of the Kingdom, denounced what they called “the landing and presence of people at the Eighteenth National Congress who have no connection to it or to the National Council.”

The angry representatives demanded that the Secretary-General “adopt a restraining law against anyone who was proven to have no connection to the National Council or the Congress and attended the work, and refer him to justice on charges of impersonation,” and called for further tightening of the process of controlling attendance at the party’s National Council work in the future.

Representatives urged Baraka not to allow the presence of any name in the Executive Committee “who has been proven to be involved in the chaos that the conference experienced or any previous chaos that the party experienced,” in reference to the events that took place in the preparation stage for the conference and the election of the preparatory committee, which put the party in the spotlight and harmed its image in the public. the society.

According to the sources who were present at the meeting, representatives in the party called on the Secretary-General “not to allow the return of those they described as the ‘remnants of February’ to the Executive Committee,” referring to the members who wish to return to the Executive Committee who were brought in by Hamid Shubat and granted them major powers in the meeting. Party leadership.

Meanwhile, the representatives called on the Secretary-General to grant the team representation within the Executive Committee, without specifying a specific number, which represents an attempt by him to avoid putting more pressure on Baraka in the long negotiations that he is leading in order to choose 34 names who will lead the party with him in the upcoming elections.

According to the same sources, the emergence of the party’s new executive committee after consensus on its members “is still a long way off,” as it is likely that nothing new will be known about the issue “before next June,” and that Baraka’s governmental commitments will be among the main factors in this postponement, as the man will be present at the helm.
