The Communist Party deputy, Alejandra Placenciareferred to the administrative agreement that grants the PC the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies but that it seems that – just as happened in the Senate – it will not be respected.
In conversation with Al Pan Pan with Mirna Schindler, the parliamentarian said that unlike previous occasions, currently, “no one has the votes” to break away and preside on their own.
In that sense, he added that “we are working to ensure that the agreement is fulfilled because we have a higher objective regarding what it means to comply with the citizens. So, there are no excuses here.”
Regarding these excuses, several voices in the Lower House say that it is a way to apply a veto to the PC. But for Placencia this is not the case, since “there are no excuses regarding the Communist Party. Because they end with respect to that point. “That is no longer an issue.”
“The word pledged in politics has to count. And I think it’s important. Here a veto of the Communist Party can no longer be established as an excuse. And second, we have the legitimate right to demand that this agreement be fulfilled not only for us, but also for what it means today for the aspirations of the government.”
There are less than two weeks left for the election of the Lower House table, and the scenario remains open due to the lack of agreements between the different political parties.
