Renowned American writer Paul Auster dies at 77

His numerous creations, which include poetry, narrative, essays, and adaptations for theater and film, have been translated into more than 40 languages.

According to reports from The New York Times, Paul Auster, renowned American writer, died today at the age of 77. Throughout his career, Auster was known for his extensive literary work that includes the ‘New York Trilogy’, ‘Brooklyn Follies’ and ‘The Invention of Solitude’.

Auster, who lived in Brooklyn (New York), He lost his life at home due to complications from lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a grandson.

Paul Auster, born in 1947 in Newark, New Jersey, into a Jewish family with Austrian roots, He found Brooklyn his home and the main backdrop for his literary works, especially during the 1980s and 1990s.

Recently, his life was shaken by tragedy with the loss of his son Daniel Auster, 44, due to an overdose.

The writer’s son faced charges for the death of his daughter Ruby, who was Paul Auster’s granddaughter and was just 10 months old. In her statement, she stated that he had used heroin before falling asleep and discovering, upon waking, that The little girl had died due to fentanyl and heroin poisoning.

The author was awarded the Prince of Asturias Award for Literature in 2006.
