Caritas, Diakonie, Hilfewerk, Red Cross & Volkshilfe present demands in the field of care and call on the incoming federal government to start the necessary system reform.
Vienna (OTS) – In the last two years, many reform measures in care and support have been introduced, which are fundamentally to be welcomed. From a structural perspective, however, the care and support landscape across Austria continues to be characterized by hurdles and system limits, the shortage of skilled workers is already limiting the care offerings and the already noticeable dynamics of demographic development require immediate action.
The Federal Association for Free Welfare (BAG) is Austria’s largest non-profit provider of nursing and care services. The sponsoring organizations are pushing for a comprehensive system reform and are presenting a position paper with the central demands for the care and support system at the joint press conference, which will serve as a template for politicians in the coming legislative period.
This package includes necessary measures in the areas of nursing and care staff, care structures, people in need of care and their relatives, organization/financing/digitalization and federal nursing allowance.
