“Remember that their voice was silenced”: the observant families establish a forum and call for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry

The families of the female observers who served at the Nahal Oz outpost on October 7 are announcing today (Wednesday) the establishment of the “HaKol Shelhan” forum, which will fight “for the exposure of the omissions at the outpost and the establishment of a state investigative committee.” According to the forum announcement, his name is meant to “remind everyone of their voice that was silenced even though it reported until the last moment”.

In the forum, they warn against Mesmos and Tatua. “We will not agree that the resignations will clear those responsible. We demand that a state investigation committee be established and all those responsible be brought to justice. We demand that the omissions at the Nahal Oz outpost, which led to their deaths, be specifically investigated by the investigation committee that will be established. In view of the fact that even eight months later, no decision has been made To establish a state investigation committee, and in view of the fact that there is a kind of public acceptance that the resignation of senior officials is sufficient and is respected, the families decided to unite and act together. In the coming days, the forum will also begin to lead public activities.”

On October 7, 15 female observers fell at the outpost: Aviv Hajjaj, Yael Leibushor, Noa Price, Shai Ashram, Hadar Cohen, Roni Eshel, Shaf Nissani, Shirat Yam Amar, Mia Vialovo Polo, Shiral Mor, Yam Gelas, Shira Shohat, Noam Abramowitz, Adi Landman and Shir Eilat. The observer Noa Marciano was kidnapped from the outpost and murdered by Hamas terrorists. Five female observers are still held captive by Hamas: Karina Ariev, Naama Levy, Liri Elbag, Agam Berger and Daniela Gilboa.

The observer Uri Magidish was kidnapped from the outpost and the security forces rescued her from captivity after 23 days.
