JAKARTA – China successfully launched four satellites, including Neptune-01, into orbit using a Long March 6C rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

This mission was the maiden flight of the Long March 6C rocket and marked the addition of a new member to the Long March rocket family. It will also improve the model range of new-generation Long March rockets and accelerate the modernization of active rockets China .

The Long March 6C rocket manufactured by Shanghai Aerospace Corporation will encourage the commercial space industry to adapt to changes in productivity. Its strategic existence actively promotes new industries and increases new production capacity.

Sputnik Globe reported on Wednesday (29/5/2024), a mission to launch four satellites as part of a joint mission for commercial purposes. This also marks the first public tender for launch services for the Long March series of rockets.

On the other hand, Neptune 01 is an experimental satellite in the Neptune constellation. The project includes one experimental satellite and 12 operational satellites, and aims to build and operate a constellation of low-orbit real-time imaging observation satellites and provide satellite-based real-time imaging services worldwide.

The satellite has a total weight of 239 kilograms and operates in a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 507 kilometers. The satellite is equipped with an X-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) that uses a concentrated transmission method using a reflective surface antenna and a traveling wave tube amplifier.

The satellite has several operating modes and can provide high-resolution images to a wide range of users. It can also provide quantitative SAR satellite data in areas such as surveying and mapping, land, disaster prevention, marine, forestry, transportation and water conservation.
