Adina Moshe, 72, Israeli, was captured by the terrorist group Hamas on October 7 in Kibbutz Nir Oz. She was released again on November 24. In new television testimony, she claims to have seen a top Hamas leader while she was taken hostage in Gaza’s underground tunnels.

Adina Moshe was trapped in Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip for almost 50 days. Yesterday he spoke about it again on Israeli television. You spoke of a dark, dank tunnel, in which time was killed by, among other things, the lessons of three other hostages. The three are still held prisoner.

Adina told her story at a time when a new agreement on the possible release of the hostages is on the table, but has not yet been concluded. Hamas still holds more than 100 civilians captive. The previous agreement between Hamas and Israel at the end of November led to the release of around 100 hostages.

Adina’s prison conditions were appalling, the 72-year-old woman said. Along with other hostages, she was visited by Hamas leader Yehya Sinwar in the underground corridors. She is said to have addressed them in Hebrew, a language she learned during her long imprisonment in Israel: “Hello. How are you? Is everything okay?” The hostages turned their heads and said nothing. Another visit followed three weeks later.

Adina Moshe was living with her husband David on Kibbutz Nir Oz when Hamas fighters invaded on October 7. Her husband was shot in the leg, Adina herself was dragged out of the house. One of the terrorists went back inside and shot David dead. Before he was killed, he blew her a goodbye kiss, Adina said. She was then taken to Gaza on a moped. A terrorist brutally ripped an earring from her ear. Before she could strike again, she Adina gave him her other earring. She stole all of her jewelry.

Criticism

Along with other hostages, Adina had to walk for five hours through Hamas’ vast, dark tunnel network. There was almost no relief. They eventually entered an underground chamber where they were told they would be released in the next few days. “We believed it,” Adina said. “We believed this was the first thing Israel would do.” He clearly reflects criticism of Israel, because it will take another fifty days before he is released.

Adina Moshe speaks a little Arabic. She asked the kidnappers not to point their weapons at them so as not to further frighten the captured child. They obeyed. Adina was also allowed to walk the halls. She had asked because of her weak heart. For example, you discovered two hostages who were in a cell, saying that they had defended themselves from terrorists.

Adina couldn’t feel the heavy Israeli bombardment of Gaza so far down, but she could hear it as the tunnels seemed to move.

Adina broke down during the interview, tears flowing. Photos of the tunnels released by the army continue to haunt her. “I have the feeling that some of my fellow hostages are no longer alive, because they are no longer where I was,” she added. “They took them away from there. I saw the photos.”
