Rehabilitation of the EPP Belinta in Mahajanga

The Belinta EPP is getting a facelift thanks to the AXIAN Foundation and its partners.

A roof in poor condition, cracks in the walls of the preschool building, and one of the almost non-existent sanitary blocks and sports facilities. This is the least that can be said about the state of the infrastructure of the Belinta Public Primary School (EPP), located in the fokontany of Amborovy, commune of Mahajanga I, in the Boeny region. Faced with the urgent need for renovations, rehabilitation work was undertaken by the AXIAN Foundation, the Association “Bapasy Football Ambondrona – Mahajanga Sport and Education” (ABFA – chaired by former Baréa Pascal Razakanantenaina), the Association “Travel With a Mission” (TWAM) and Pierrick Capelle, professional footballer, Captain of SCO d’Angers, French Ligue 1 Club, who co-financed part of the work. The companies TELMA and TOA, within the framework of the “Sekoly TELMA” and “MADIO TOA” Business Programs, are not left out. The official handover ceremony of school infrastructure was held yesterday with all stakeholders.

Infrastructures. Among the works carried out for the 334 students of this EPP, there is the rehabilitation of the preschool building including two classrooms, the construction of a multifunctional building including a changing room for girls, a changing room for boys, an office and a storage room. There is also the construction of a 35mx22m multi-sports field in compacted earth, corresponding in particular to the standards of 7-a-side football, the installation of solar poles around the field, in order to allow the holding of extracurricular sports activities for young schoolchildren but also for young people from neighboring neighborhoods. Sports equipment was also provided to this school establishment. To improve sanitary conditions, the AXIAN foundation and its partners have proceeded with the construction of a two-compartment sanitary block, intended for the preschool and a three-compartment sanitary block with a lost pit urinal for the primary school.
