Walid Regragui, the coach of the first Moroccan national football team, recently devoted a visit to some Gulf leagues, along with his assistant Rachid Ben Mahmoud, to meet a group of Moroccan professionals who are active in the Saudi “Roshen” League, the UAE League, and the Qatari League.
“Hesport” learned from an official source that the Regragui Gulf tour had a positive impact on most of the Moroccan names active there, as it constituted an incentive to persevere more to secure a place within the “Atlas Lions” battalion.
The same source explained that Al-Ragragui assured the players he met that the technical staff of the national team is monitoring the level of all players in the Arab leagues, and that the level of practice has developed in the Gulf leagues, and that all players have the opportunity to join the first team if they present themselves in the required manner.
It is expected that Regragui will schedule another trip to the European leagues in the next few days to meet with professionals there, including Ismail Saibari, the Dutch player for PSV Eindhoven, to check on his health after being absent during the recent period.
The national voter is racing against time to prepare the final list that will be relied upon in the next preparatory camp during the period between June 3 and 11, which will include two matches in the African qualifiers for the next World Cup.
The national team will host its Zambian counterpart in the large stadium in Agadir, and will be a guest of Congo Brazzaville, for the third and fourth rounds of the qualifiers.
