Reelectionists, dynasties, denounced and sentenced, among the PRI candidates in Edomex

The tricolor call includes among the requirements to become a candidate not having a final sentence for political violence based on gender, for family or gender violence, or as a food debtor.

In the internal process, for the second consecutive time, the athlete Zudikey Rodríguez was also registered for the mayor of Valle de Bravo, where she will once again face, if applicable, her Morena cousin Michel Núñez, despite the fact that in 2021 she denounced the alleged retention by a criminal group to force her to leave the race.

The former mayor and former deputy Aarón Urbina wishes to return to the municipal presidency of Tecámac, while his daughter Lilia Urbina aspires to return to the local council; and local deputy Mario Santana is interested in returning, for the umpteenth time, to the mayor’s office of Villa Victoria.

Marco Antonio Rodríguez in Tlalnepantla, Aldo Ledezma in Cuautitlán, David Sánchez Isidoro in Coacalco, Ana Muñiz in San Mateo Atenco, Miguel Ángel Ramírez in Lerma, Manuel Vilchis in Zinacantepec, and Erik Cedillo in Rayón are also running for municipal re-election.

In addition, Marisol Arias will seek to repeat in Atlacomulco, Maribel Alcántara in Acambay, Abuzeid Lozano in Ixtlahuaca, Felipe Sánchez in Jiquipilco, Jesús Cedillo in Jocotitlán, Ruth Salazar in El Oro, Teresa Casas in Jilotzingo and Rigoberto López in Tejupilco, to name a few.

Meanwhile, local representative Karla Aguilar goes to Tenango del Valle; also local representative Gretel González for Chicoloapan; former deputy Isidro Moreno Arcega for Ecatepec, and former legislator Jesús Sánchez Isidoro for Valle de Chalco.

For re-election to the local councils, Paola Jiménez was registered for district 36 of Toluca and Zinacantepec, Braulio Álvarez for district 2 of Toluca, David Parra for Naucalpan, Miriam Cárdenas for Almoloya de Juárez, Jaime Cervantes for Lerma, and Elida Castelán for Tejupilco.

The former mayor and former deputy Eduardo Zarzoza is going for San Felipe del Progreso, while the local deputy Leticia Mejía, a candidate for re-election for the same district, did not arrive. Something similar happened with the deputy Alfredo Quiroz Fuentes, who aspired to re-election for the 35th of Metepec and even requested a license, but Mariano Camacho, son of former governor César Camacho, finally registered for the candidacy.

No later than April 19, the tricolor will issue its rulings on the acceptance or rejection of candidatures, but it is considered that, in these cases, it is a mere formality procedure.
