The Greek-owned merchant ship Transworld Navigator was attacked by the Houthis – The announcement from the headquarters of the US armed forces

The US Central Command or CENTCOM confirmed the attack on the Greek-owned merchant ship Transworld Navigator, which was announced on Sunday by the representative of the Houthi rebels of Yemen, Yahya Saria.

In the CENTCOM update, it is stated that the Greek-owned M/V Transworld Navigator under the flag of Liberia was hit around 4 am on Sunday by a Houthi drone, the crew reported “minor injuries and limited damage”, but continued its journey.

It is also underlined that it was the fourth time that this particular ship was attacked by the Houthis.

Yahya Sharia had also announced that the Houthis launched a missile attack against the Stolt Sequoia ship in the Indian Ocean.

Since last November, Iran-aligned Yemeni rebels have frequently launched missile and drone attacks against merchant ships in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. They initially said they were targeting ships linked to Israel, but later expanded their targets to include ships linked to the US and Britain in retaliation for strikes against their positions in Yemen by forces from those countries.
