Recording from Silesia. When they saw how many people were driving, they used their service weapons

On Tuesday (2 January) the police received a report of theft of fuel at one of the stations in Żory (Silesian Voivodeship). The attackers moved away towards the Pszczyna neighborhood and were traveling in a Volkswagen van.

At a certain point, the officers noticed the car in question and started chasing it. However, the man had no intention of stopping, but he started to run away. The police followed him across the ring road to state road no. 1 towards Tychy. Other patrols constantly joined the action.

The driver of the Volkswagen was driving recklessly and very dangerously – he significantly exceeded the speed, which at times reached almost 170 km/h, caused collisions and overtook vehicles on the right – emphasizes the Silesian police.

Chasing a thief. The police used weapons

The man blocked the path of police cars several times, trying to push officers off the road. Since the driver posed a threat to other road users and continued not to respond to signals, the police decided to use their service weapon.

At one point, the driver of the Volkswagen wanted to do this to avoid hitting the rear of the vehicle in front of him, he decided to overtake on the right and went off the road, ending his mad escape in a ditch.

There were 4 people on board the vehicle being chased: two women, aged 19 and 21, and two men, aged 19 and 28, all sober. One of the men is currently understood to have a driving ban from the court. Additionally, officers found dry plants in the car. Initial investigations show that the substance seized was marijuana.
