Shortly after the digital registration certificate was presented, there was a rush for the eID app; Excellent adoption of the new digital ID card

Vienna (OTS) The “eIDs” app now also enables citizens to easily, securely and digitally show the registration certificate data for their car and other motor vehicles on their smartphone. This makes it possible to prove to the executive branch that the motor vehicle used is properly registered in Austria. The digital registration certificate has also set a new record: in the first 24 hours after the presentation, 86,034 digital registration certificates were already loaded into the “eIDs” app. The digital driving license was loaded 32,000 times and the digital proof of age 10,000 times in the first 24 hours after presentation.

“With the introduction of the digital registration certificate, we have not only created Austria’s next digital ID card, but have also digitized the entire traffic control process. I am pleased that the digital admission certificate has been so well received with over 86,000 activations on the first day alone. Austria has always been a pioneer in e-government and with the third digital ID card in the eID platform, we are consistently continuing this path to success,” said State Secretary Florian Tursky with delight.

“The Austrian police are leaders in Europe when it comes to technical equipment and equipment. Every police officer is equipped with a smartphone. As with the digital driving license, this also ensures the conditions for quick and efficient checking of the digital registration certificate. With fully digitalized traffic control, the Austrian police are already considered one of the most modern police units in Europe,” said Interior Minister Gerhard Karner.
