Real Madrid managed for the first time, on Sunday night (1), to inflict a defeat on their arch-rival Barcelona since 2016 and the first “el classic” since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

After the long fast that lasted around four years, as the Merengues’ last victory over the Catalans had been achieved in April 2016, Real Madrid managed to triumph with two unanswered balls at the Santiago Bernabéu, where they no longer beat Barcelona since 2015.

The match was marked by a great performance by the young Vinícus Jr., who scored the first goal of the game, and by Casimiro, who nullified the Argentine star, Leonel Messi, during the 90 minutes of the game.

With the victory, Real Madrid returned to the leadership of La Liga that it had lost to Barcelona last week.
