Real Madrid thrash Granada, Mallorca wins

Madrid: Already confirmed La Liga champions Real Madrid capped off a great week with a 4-0 win against Granada. Madrid traveled to the south of Spain after qualifying for the UEFA Champions League final with a 2-1 home win over Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Carlo Ancelotti made several changes to his team, but after a difficult opening 35 minutes, Madrid beat an opponent who will play in the second division next season. Left-back Fran Garcia opened the scoring after a pass from young Arda Güler and then returned the favor for the Turks to double the lead on the stroke of halftime. Brahim Diaz added Madrid’s third four minutes after the break and scored his second goal in the 59th minute of the game.
Giovanni Gonzalez’s 29th-minute goal gave Mallorca a vital 1-0 win at home to Las Palmas, moving them nine points clear of the relegation zone and increasing the pressure on Cadiz, who play at home on Sunday Will face Getafe. Mallorca’s victory also means that Granada’s promotion to the second division was decided even before the start of the match against Real Madrid. Athletic Club Bilbao’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League looked to be over after a 2-2 draw at home to Osasuna, but they tried to overcome several shortcomings to bounce back from 2-0 down. Showed passion.
Raul Garcia put Osasuna ahead in the 40th minute and Ruben Garcia doubled their lead early in the second half. Iñaki Williams pulled a goal back for Athletic with a powerful shot in the 57th minute and Asier Villalibre scored in the 96th after a mistake by visiting goalkeeper Sergio Herrera. Alexander Sorloth scored his 18th and 19th goals of the season as Villarreal beat Sevilla 3–2, with the Norwegian heading in the winner with almost the final act of the game. Sevilla took the lead twice after Youssef En-Nesyri scored a penalty in the 25th minute and then scored a second goal in the 43rd minute after Sorloth had leveled the score in the first game. Yerson Mosquera made it 2–2 with the game remaining and Villarreal also had a goal ruled out for offside moments before Sorloth’s winner. On Friday, second-placed Verona was held 2-2 by Alaves, having only had the honor of playing after conceding the lead twice against an opponent. Eric García gave Verona an early lead, but John Guridi’s first goal of the game in the 12th minute made the score 1–1. Yangel Herrera’s low shot put Verona ahead just before half-time, but Guridi grabbed his second of the game in the ninth minute of injury time to take a share of the points, meaning Barcelona would be on course to win if they beat Real Sociedad on Monday night. If he defeats then he can go to second place.
