TEL AVIVIran alert all troops and air defense systems to be wary of retaliatory attacks from Israel.

Iranian officials said their response to an Israeli attack on their consulate in Damascus would be appropriate and limited. And that is the operation called True Promise by the Revolutionary Guards.

“I think we’ve seen the worst impact this could have on Iran. It’s certainly not a full-blown attack. And it certainly shows what Iran is capable of. It’s a sight we’ve never seen before – Iranian ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones launched at Israel, ” said Al Jazeera’s Dorsa Jabbari.

According to state TV, the Iranian projectile managed to hit a military target, but this was of course denied by Israel.

Now, the world begins the next phase of this story. That is what Israel will respond to. Therefore, the Revolutionary Guard remains alert and issued words of warning to Israel.

“We heard a commander on state TV say that any response from Israel would be met with a tougher response,” Al Jazeera reported.

For now, Iranians are waiting to see what Israel will do, and whether they will be able to sustain this conflict as it is currently without making things worse.

Later, in a letter addressed to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Security Council President Vanessa Frazier, Tehran emphasized that its attack on Israel was a legitimate and justifiable act of self-defense against Israeli “aggression.”

Iran’s UN mission condemned the Security Council’s failure to condemn Israel’s deadly airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1.

“As a responsible member of the UN, the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to the goals and principles enshrined in the UN Charter and international law and reiterates its consistent stance that Iran does not seek escalation or conflict in the region,” the letter said.

Even so, Iran warned that it would defend its people and interests from any threats.
