Rastorgujev enters the top ten in the EC individual distance

Among Latvian athletes, Aleksandrs Patrijuks ranked 37th, Edgars Mise 77th, Renārs Birkentāls 84th and Gints Lūsis 105th out of 111 biathletes who finished.

The winner Sērums completed the 20 kilometer distance in 52 minutes and 32.7 seconds, without making any mistakes in four shooting ranges. The women’s 15km race of the European Championship will take place today at 3.30pm.

Baiba Bendika will not start, Sanita Buliņa will go with number one, Sandra Buliņa with number 52 and Annija Sabule with number 58 in the competition of 103 athletes.

Baiba Bendika ranked 12th, Sanita Buliņa 61st and Sandra Buliņa 75th in last season’s European Championships.

On Friday the biathletes will compete in the sprint, on Saturday in the pursuit and on Sunday in the mixed relay.

Later in the season, from 7 to 18 February, the world championship will take place in the Czech city of Nove Mesto, while the next stage of the World Cup will take place in Oslo between February and March.
