Brazil – The president of the Brazilian Santos Football Club, Marcelo Teixeira, confirmed his desire to sign Neymar da Silva, the Saudi Al Hilal club striker, to wear the white and black shirt again.
Neymar (32 years old) has a contract with Al Hilal for two seasons, until 2025, and there is an option to extend for an additional year, but it seems that the two parties are on their way to separating after the end of the contract, according to a British Daily Mail report.
The Brazilian star is expected to fulfill a promise to return to his childhood team before hanging up his boots.
Teixeira said that he has already begun negotiations with his Brazilian compatriot Neymar, to convince him to return to Santos in the next stage, and confirms that the talks are going well between them.
Teixeira added in statements published by the Daily Mail: The conversation with Neymar was very quick, but it had a good effect.
He continued: In order for him to return and play here, he must first recover well from the injury, and he will continue his experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and then return here.”
Previous reports stated that Santos Club is planning to bring Neymar back to its ranks again, after he recovers from the knee injury that kept him out of the field and the end of his current professional experience in the Saudi League.
Neymar joined Al Hilal club last summer, coming from Paris Saint-Germain, under a two-year contract. He participated in only 5 matches for the Saudi team before he suffered a cruciate ligament tear in his knee while he was with the Brazilian national team.
Neymar’s career in the Santos team began in 2009 when he was only 17 years old. He quickly secured his place in the team’s lineup and then moved to Barcelona in 2013, and from there to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, in a deal amounting to 222 million euros.
