Mumbai : Ranveer Singh was expected to work with filmmaker Prashanth Varma on the upcoming film ‘Rakshas’. However, for the past few days, it was reported that Ranveer has walked out of the project due to creative differences. Now confirming this, Ranveer along with the producers have released a statement confirming that the film is indeed not happening. However, both the actor and the producers assured that they will work on an exciting collaboration in the future. Ranveer said in an official statement, “Prashant is a very special talent. We met and discussed the idea of the film together. Hopefully we will collaborate on something exciting in the future.” On the other hand, Verma said, “It is rare to find energy and talent like Ranveer. We will combine our forces soon in the future.” The statement said that both parties agreed that “everyone had the right intentions” in making the film but “sometimes certain things shouldn’t happen at that time.” Earlier it was reported that the actor and the producers had creative differences. Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying, “Ranveer had gone to Hyderabad for a photo shoot to announce the film in April. While all the plans were finalised, the official announcement has now hit a hitch.
Ranveer Singh will no longer be a part of Prashanth Varma’s film Rakshasa. They have decided to part ways amicably due to creative differences.” Meanwhile, another report by Times Now/Zoom mentioned that Ranveer backed out of the project just after three days of shooting with the ‘Hanuman’ director. The report states that it was Ranveer who “pursued” Prashanth for ‘Rakshasa’ and at that time, the filmmaker apparently planned to start another project in Telugu but decided to shelve it to work on ‘Rakshasa’ seeing Ranveer’s “enthusiasm”. Later, Prashanth himself confirmed that Ranveer had come to his office to meet him and that they had also done a look test for Rakshasa. “Yes, Ranveer Singh has his own style. He came to the office with a whole caravan. But, the way of working in the South is different. Here everyone works as a team. Nobody tries to impose any kind of authority on anyone,” Prashanth told Amar Ujala. However, he dismissed any reports of creative differences and said, “The talk about it taking me three-four days to shoot for half an hour is baseless. We completed her look test efficiently. I’m not sure where these rumours started from and I don’t want to pay heed to them.”
