Ramoji Rao, the founder of India’s ‘Ramoji Film City’, the world’s largest cinema set, has passed away. He breathed his last today (June 8) at 3:45 am in a hospital in Hyderabad, India. This news has been reported by the source of Indian media ‘The Economic Times’.

‘Media Baron’ Ramoji Rao was 87 years old at the time of his death. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over his death. Posting a picture with Ramoji Rao on social media X, he wrote, ‘Ramoji Rao Garu’s death is very painful. He revolutionized Indian media. His contribution to the world of media and cinema is undeniable. He was a very dedicated soul for the development of India.’

It is known that he was suffering from physical illness for several days. He underwent angioplasty a few days ago. After that, Ramoji was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad on June 5 due to high blood pressure and breathing problems.

Since then Ramoji was being treated there. On Friday (June 7) his condition further deteriorated. He was put on ventilation support. Then on Saturday morning he passed away.

Ramoji Rao also owned Enadu Newspaper, ETV Network as well as a production company called ‘Ushakiran Movies’. He has produced movies in different languages. He won the National Award for his outstanding contribution to the Indian cinema industry.

Ramoji was also a leading man in social service. He was widely appreciated for donating 20 crore rupees to the relief fund during the Corona crisis.
