But the new song of ‘Rajkumar’ has broken the patience of the fans. Because the song is specially dedicated to Shakib fans (Shakibiyan). Ferrari Farhad is the lyricist of this song titled ‘Ami Ekai Rajkumar’. It is sung by Shamim Hasan with Emon Chowdhury’s music. It is choreographed by India’s Ashok Raja. From the lyrics to the choreography, Shakib’s costume, and even the incongruity of the hero’s lip syncing with the song, fans are questioning it.
Producer Himel Ashraf expressed his regret after seeing such a tragic situation. Taking the responsibility of the entire matter on his shoulders, he told the audience to watch the entire movie without getting frustrated. In a long message on the biggest Facebook group of Shakib fans, he responded by detailing the song.
Himel Ashraf comments, “Ami Ekai Rajkumar’ is a song made for a movie. If I thought this song was bad or tasteless, then I wouldn’t have put it in the movie. If it’s in bad taste, it’s my fault. Sorry, apologies to anyone who found the song offensive. But here there is no opportunity to accept fish in muddy water.”
Telling the story behind the song, Himel wrote, “I have not put an item song in any of my movies. ‘Sultana Bibiana’ (Himel’s first film) had a qawwali song called ‘Allah Allah’, ‘Priyatma’ had a dance song called ‘Qurbani’. This time we thought of recreating some of the old patterns, which would be something native to us. Since a major part of the story is set in America and this is one lip song in Bangladesh, we wanted to fuse a song in our native local language, Bengali, for a dance. The place in the story where this song will go is a comedy situation, the previous moment is very funny. So let’s try to make a dance song in our native language, with a bit of Masti comedy.”
Himel also paid tribute to the song’s lyricist, music director. However, he said that the non-coordination of audio and video is a technical error. The responsibility of this has been taken by the manufacturer in simple words.
