The board of directors of Raja Club Athletic, headed by Mohamed Boudrika, opened negotiations with officials of Esperance Sportive de Tunis during the past few hours, in order to extend the stay of Algerian Riadh Ben Ayad, who played for the “Eagles” during the second half of the last season on loan.
Hesport learned from an informed source that the “Green Team” has begun negotiations with the officials of Taraji to purchase Ben Ayad’s contract, given that his loan period ends on June 30.
The same source explained that Ben Ayed’s brilliance in the last match against Mouloudia Oujda, for the semi-finals of the Throne Cup, by scoring two goals that decided the qualification of the Moroccan league champion to the Silver Cup final, prompting the management office of Raja to put extending Ben Ayed’s position among its priorities.
A Hesport source indicated that Raja has only one obstacle, which is the high financial value of the Algerian player; which may prompt the officials of the “Green Team” to ask him to reduce it and put an offer on the table for Taraji to obtain the player’s services.
Ben Ayyad’s contract with Esperance Athletic expires in the summer of next year, and the Tunisian team was carefully considering selling his contract, especially after the injury he sustained during his time with the African runner-up. But his recent brilliance may force the Tunisian team to reconsider its calculations.
It is noteworthy that Riyad Ben Ayad participated in 12 matches with Raja in the second leg of the Professional League and Throne Cup competitions, scoring 4 goals. He is a graduate of the Algerian Paradou Academy, and also played for the ES Setif team before moving to the Tunisian Esperance Sportive de Tunis.
