It is expected that Morocco will receive a new national museum affiliated with the national institution charged with managing museums in the Kingdom, which, this time, will be dedicated to the cultural heritage of the African continent.

The “Museum of African Culture,” which is currently being built opposite the headquarters of the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat, has given its location to the National Foundation of Museums for management after it was the headquarters of the General Command of the Moroccan Naval Forces.

This renovated building, which is scheduled to be completed next year 2025, is scheduled to include an institution for the care and maintenance of museum collections, artistic residencies to develop the creativity of artists, and a special museum in Rabat.

This new museum joins a museum course affiliated with the National Foundation of Museums, and brings together, minutes away, the Museum of History and Civilizations, which tells the archaeological and cultural story of Morocco with archaeological finds and exhibits from prehistoric times all the way to the Islamic era, passing through the Libyan-Moorish, Punic and Roman stages, and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. Which includes a permanent exhibition of Moroccan artistic modernity, and Moroccan creativity in general, and displays international collections of icons of human art.
