Pump failure leaves eastern colonies without water

Due to a mechanical failure, pump number 76, located next to Ciudad Universitaria, stopped supplying water to the neighborhoods in the sector; The Municipal Water and Sanitation System (Simas) Torreón will make the necessary repairs and the supply with pipes will be launched.

The general manager of the organization, Eduardo Terrazas Ramos, reported that the repairs will be made this Saturday, although since Friday the Joyas del Desierto, Villas del Sol, Jardines Universidad and Villas Universidades neighborhoods have had low pressure, while in other areas there was a lack of water.

“Due to the failure now, the pump’s consumption has decreased, but it is still in operation and providing service to the colonies it supplies. When the repairs are made, it will be taken out of operation to replace the bowl, actions that are expected to be completed on the same day of tomorrow,” commented the official.

The general manager added that since yesterday the supply of drinking water through pipes has been available for the colonies in question; This service has no cost for citizens who request it.

“This Friday there will be low pressure or a lack of water in some areas. Tomorrow, Saturday, when we take the pump out of operation to carry out the repairs, there will be a lack of water in those colonies during the time that the work lasts. That is why we have the supply by pipes in place to reduce the inconvenience to users,” he explained.
