The Gato Chino Company presents “Pulp”, its third production, written and directed by Nicolás González Burgos, at Teatro Camino.

A production that immerses the audience in a labyrinth of various situations that take place in a less luxurious hotel with ambitious characters. An action comedy, with clear references to the cinematic universe of Quentin Tarantino and B-class cinema.

This initiative is funded by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage through its Support Program for Collaborating Cultural Organizations.

The montage shows a millionaire closing the deal of his life in one of the rooms. In the next room, two agents await their deadly mission. In the hallway, a maid plots her revenge, and the bellboy is aware of everything. The room becomes a witness and a scene of a chaotic and violent journey.

In a world where money and ambition rule, this group of people will be dragged into hilarious and dangerous situations. A time where life is at stake, answers must not wait and empathy seems like a cheap coin.

“We approach this political and social theme through black and absurd humour. It is a tool to communicate a message and is the most entertaining and provocative way to generate reflection. Humour disarms the public’s defences and encourages questioning of a certain logic that prevails in the current system,” explains the playwright and director, Nicolás González.

Teatro Camino is part of the Program to Support Collaborating Cultural Organizations of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, which seeks to strengthen and give continuity to private and non-profit cultural institutions and organizations. This program is also part of the Financing System for Organizations and Cultural Infrastructure of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, which integrates, articulates and coordinates in a transversal way the plans, programs and funds aimed at promoting and supporting organizations, cultural infrastructure, and artistic mediation. All this with a decentralized vocation, participatory mechanisms, and the promotion of the creation of networks and associations.
