Today is the birthday of legendary actor Humayun Faridi. Had he lived, he would have celebrated his 72nd birthday today. On the occasion of Humayun Faridi’s birthday today (May 29) Wednesday at 5 pm, a book launch event has been organized on Channel Eye’s rooftop terrace.
Ahmed Rezaur Rahman Ejaz has edited the book ‘Humayun Faridi Sang Ek Audreen’ written by eminent cultural persons. Film, stage and television personalities will remember the late actor at the launch event.A legendary actor was born on this day in 1952 in Narinda, Dhaka. Although he was born in Dhaka, he spent his childhood and youth outside Dhaka. Due to his father’s job, he had to travel to many other districts including Moulvibazar, Brahmanbaria, Chandpur, Kishoreganj, Madaripur. That is why he studied from primary to higher secondary in different schools of different districts.
Completed HSC from Chandpur Government College in 1970. After independence, he was admitted to Jahangirnagar University with economics. From there, he got first place in the first class and completed his honors.
During his university life, Humayun Faridi became close to actor Salim Al Din. In 1976, the theater festival was started in Jahangirnagar University on the initiative of Salim Al Din. In this festival, a play called ‘Aatmastha and Hiranmayid Vritanta’ was staged under Faridi’s own composition and direction. Which was considered the best drama at that time.
After that, this talented actor is active in three mediums – stage, television and film. He has given many popular dramas and films in his colorful career of three decades.
The actor also won the National Film Award in the Best Actor category in 2004 for his performance in the movie ‘Motherhood’.
In his personal life, Faridi first married Minu, a girl from Faridpur. They have a daughter named Devyani in that house. Later he married Nandit actress Subarna Mustafa. That marriage also broke up in 2008.
In 2012, on February 13, the legend left the illusion of the world and migrated to the land of no return.
