The Main Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Ferry Paulus, hopes for the match Persib Bandung vs Persija Jakarta on continuation Liga 1 2023/2024 season at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Saturday (9/3/2024), spectators may attend.

This classic duel is a match in Week 28 of Liga 1 2023/2024. However, the duel is threatened without supporters. The PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis) has imposed sanctions on Persib with a ban on holding one home match without spectators.

This refers to the riots outside the stadium perimeter carried out by supporters after the match against PSIS Semarang at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on 27 February.

However, Persib is currently appealing the sanctions imposed by the PSSI Komdis. With the hope that the match against Persija will be attended by spectators. However, there is no bright spot regarding this appeal.

Regarding this, Ferry actually hopes that the match will be attended by spectators. Because the duel entitled El Clasico Indonesia is always very interesting to watch. So if there were no spectators, the match would be less interesting.

“Actually, the League still hopes to be able to have spectators, from an industrial perspective. But the fact that Komdis prohibits it without spectators means it is less interesting,” said Ferry to journalists including MNC Portal Indonesia, Wednesday (6/3/2024).

However, Ferry said he would see later what the results of Persib’s appeal would be. He also said that the match between Persija and Prince Biru – Persib’s nickname – would be very interesting to watch because both teams are currently struggling to win their targets.

“But I think like this, the rivalry between Persib and Persija has not yet finished and it feels like it will never be finished, with spectators or without spectators, even though it is not very lively, the meaning of the match is still there,” he said.

“We’ll see what the match will be like, if we look at it, Persib is fighting to stay in the top four, if it feels like Persija is fighting to be number one to avoid relegation, then the next time there might be a chance to be in the top four in the Champions Series,” explained Ferry. .

Just for your information, currently Persib is collecting 48 points and is in second place in the 2023/2024 Liga 1 standings. Meanwhile, Persija is in eighth position with a score of 35 points.
